Flashy console and controller to match your mood

Sony’s new Chroma Collection brings shiny PS5 covers, themed DualSense controllers

If the Ghost of Tsushima sequel isn’t exciting enough, Sony’s latest announcement is adding a bit of bling to your PlayStation 5 console. And calling them eye-catching will be an understatement.

The new Sony Chroma Collection is adding a range of shiny and shimmery covers for your PS5, which will no doubt level up your console setup. Additionally, there are matching DualSense controllers, too.

PS5’s Chroma Collection is here to set your mood

The Chroma Collection console covers include three shades, namely, pearl, indigo, and teal. All of these covers have their own vibe to match your mood. The pearl console cover has a reflective pearlescent finish, just as it should have, whereas the indigo and teal finishes reflect an iridescent tone.

Same shades are also available for the DualSense controller, and you can buy them separately if you do not intend to fully spice up your console setup.

The Chroma console covers cost $64.99 (about Rs 5,400) and the themed controllers are priced at $79.99 (about Rs 6,700). They will be available from October 3 in select regions like the US, UK, France, Germany, and others. It remains to be seen when this collection reaches our shores.

While the Chroma Collection looks good, it may not be for everyone as the shades are too flashy. Some prefer solid shades, and if you are looking for something like that, you may have to go with solid faceplates.

For those who prefer something that can invoke nostalgia, Sony recently revealed its 30th Anniversary Collection. To celebrate 30 years of PlayStation, the collection includes PS5 consoles, DualSense controllers, PlayStation Portal and more in a dark and light gray colourway. This colour and the overall design will remind you of the first PlayStation console launched back in 1994.
