What is Showrunner and what can it do?

Labelled as the world’s first AI-generated streaming service, Showrunner can essentially convert your prompt into a series. And that’s not all, the tool can ensure you have narration, voice-over, plot twists and dedicated animated characters that support your storyline. The best part? You even get an episode-by-episode breakdown of your series.

So far, Fable Studios has showcased three standout series made using the tool; these include Ikiru Shinu, a dark horror anime, along with anthology-based drama shows, Sim Francisco and Exit Valley.

How to create your very own TV series with Showrunner AI

As of today, interested users can only sign up to Showrunner’s waitlist. But until access is rolled out for everyone, the platform allows users to check out previously created titles and sample teasers on the website. That said, to be able to watch the extended episode, you might have to wait a little longer.

To sign up, you can navigate to Showrunner.xyz and scroll to find a message that reads ‘Join Showrunner Waitlist for Early Access’. On hitting submit, the page will notify you of any developments via email.

Can generative AI change how the entertainment industry works today?

With platforms such as Showrunner and OpenAI’s Sora, it has become relatively easier to bring life to concepts using solely prompts. However, there are still quite a few limitations to these models, which indicatea that there may still be a long way to go before we get there.

Everything beginning from the lip-syncing among the characters to dialogues lacking depth, a lot might still be required for these platforms to find mainstream usage.
