You may have to pay to use the nifty Galaxy AI features

Samsung’s Galaxy AI features may not be free after all

Since the Samsung Galaxy S24 series launch in January this year, Samsung has been aggressively pushing the Galaxy AI features. These AI features were not just limited to the top-end models, but they also trickled down to some mid-range models sometime later.

Even the newly launched (2024) and the Galaxy Tab S10 lineup come with these nifty AI features for free. While Samsung has been offering these features for free, it has now clarified that you may have to pay a fee to use certain AI features by next year.

Samsung’s Galaxy AI features won't be free forever

Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite comes with AI features like Circle to Search, Note Assist, Chat Assist, Live Translate, and more. All these AI features are very useful and they just make things convenient for us. These features are free for now, but according to a fine print in a Samsung press release, some of these AI features won’t be free by the end of 2025.

“Fees may apply to certain AI features at the end of 2025,” noted Samsung in its press release. This is nothing but bad news for those who think that Galaxy AI features may stay free forever, and for those who are just buying, or will be buying Samsung’s premium devices for the free AI features.

However, if you plan to buy a Samsung premium phone right now, you won’t be at any loss as you can use most of the Galaxy AI features for free for more than a year. After that, only some of the features will come under a paywall, with some of them being free. What are those exact features? Well, we do not know that for now, but we should learn more soon.
