Samsung announces new ultra short-throw projectors for the ultimate home cinema experience

While tablets and smartphones have turned into a great medium for catching up on our favourite shows, there’s no denying that bigger is always better (yes, pun intended!). Of course, we have plenty of brands today offering large-screen televisions that can depict true-to-life colours. However, there are days when they just don’t cut it.

Samsung just introduced its two ultra short-throw projectors that are designed to turn an ordinary movie night into a cinematic experience. The Premiere 7 and Premiere 9 are the company’s latest projectors, and can project a display of up to 130 inches. Read on.

Samsung Premiere 7 and Premiere 9: All you need to know

Samsung’s latest projectors, for starters, come with ‘triple laser’ technology incorporated for brightness and colour accuracy. Apart from this, the projectors also offer 4K AI upscaling to transform relatively low-res media without compromising on quality. They also get speakers with Dolby Atmos support, that eliminates the need to have external audio devices for enhanced sound quality.

The Samsung Premiere 7 and Premiere 9 run on Samsung’s Tizen OS, and users can make the most of streaming services such as Netflix, Prime Video and Hulu. Samsung additionally states that setting up the projectors is also not a hassle and it only requires to be plugged in with a stable Wi-Fi connectivity.

Samsung Premiere 7 and Premiere 9: Price and availability

The Samsung Premiere 7 and Premiere 9 are priced at $3,000 (roughly Rs 2,51,848) and $5,000 (roughly Rs 4,19,747) respectively. For now, the projectors are only available on Samsung’s official online store as well as in select locations including the United States, Canada and China.

While the brand hasn’t mentioned if or when the devices will make their way into the Indian market, Samsung has stated its plans to roll them out across more regions later this year. Meanwhile, you can explore other options within this category, including the XGIMI MoGo Pro 1080p Smart Projector or the Portronics Pico 11 Ultra HD 4K Projector.
