Even as Android 14-based One UI 6 is being gradually rolled out to Samsung’s smartphones globally, a leak by tipster Benit Bruhner on X (formerly Twitter), reveals that Samsung is already working on its next big OS upgrade for its smartphones – One UI 6.1. What’s more, the update seems to have several features that draw inspiration from Google’s Pixel smartphones. Here’s what you need to know.
5 features to look out for with One UI 6.1
The leak shows that Samsung’s next mobile operating system will have several AI-powered tricks up its sleeve. Here they are.
1. AI-generated wallpapers
Perhaps the most important such feature, one which users will eagerly look forward to, is AI-generated wallpapers. The feature is already (and exclusively) available on the Pixel phones.
Think services such as Dall-E or Midjourney. The on-device AI can generate personalised wallpapers based on user inputs, to help truly make one’s device their own.
2. Relocate objects in images
Another important AI-powered feature that may make its way to Samsung’s next mobile OS is the ability to relocate objects in an image, even after it has been clicked. Moreover, one will also be able to move subjects from one image to another, and even expand a picture beyond its borders.
3. Summarisation tool on Samsung Notes
The Samsung Note app, according to the leak, will also have a few neat AI-powered abilities. One of them happens to be the ability to format big blocks of text into bullet points, which are easier to read and register. The feature resembles Google’s new summarise feature in its Recorder app.
4. Live translations
If the leak is to be believed, Samsung may also add a new feature that enables one to translate call transcripts in real-time if the conversations happen to be in regional languages, such that both users can understand and keep track of them. Which languages the feature supports, however, or how many, remains unknown.
5. Voice focus feature for calls
The leak further suggests that Samsung is working on a new feature called Voice Focus with One UI 6.1, which will remove all ambient sounds from one’s surroundings, to provide a clear and hassle-free calling experience. Currently, this feature is available on Pixel devices and iPhones as “Clear Calling,” and “Voice Isolation” respectively.

A few other features include weather and portrait effects for the lock screen on one’s device, enhanced battery protection features, as well as more refined, smoother animations.
