The Galaxy S25 is Samsung’s newest flagship smartphone, succeeding the Galaxy S24 from last year. The device brings a refined design, updated hardware, and the latest software. But is there anything major? Let’s find out in this detailed Galaxy S25 vs Galaxy S24 showdown.
Samsung Galaxy S25 vs Galaxy S24: Design, display
The Galaxy S25 does not bring a major design change when compared to the Galaxy S24. The former has slight camera island refinements, with the camera rings being bolder, adding to its looks. The edges are now even flatter, whereas, the screen bezel being narrower.
The Galaxy S25 features a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with an FHD+ resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate support. The panel on the base S25 does not get the Gorilla Glass Armor 2 like the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Instead, it has the same Gorilla Glass Victus 2 from last year.

For comparison, the predecessor Galaxy S24 has the same screen size with the same refresh rate and protection. So, there’s not much of a difference in the display or the design department.
Samsung Galaxy S25 vs Galaxy S24: Cameras
In terms of cameras as well, both the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S24 come with a triple-rear camera system, featuring a 50MP main sensor, a 10MP telephoto sensor, and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. Both phones can shoot 8K videos at up to 30fps and 4K videos at up to 60fps. The telephoto sensor on both models offers the same 3x optical zoom support.
The selfie camera also remains the same, i.e., a 12MP wide sensor with support for HDR and 4K video recording at up to 60fps. Having said that, the camera specifications remain the same on paper. However, we’ll have to test it to know the exact real-world difference.
Samsung Galaxy S25 vs Galaxy S24: Performance, battery, software
While the design, display, and cameras are similar, the performance will vary on both models. That’s because the new Galaxy S25 comes powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. The Galaxy S24, on the other hand, has an Exynos 2400 chipset. The RAM and storage have also been upgraded to 12GB from 8GB, whereas, the storage goes up to 512GB UFS 4.0.
This year, there’s no 128GB UFS 3.1 storage variant like the Galaxy S24, the Galaxy S25 starts at 256GB UFS 4.0. A new chipset and more RAM means snappier performance.
Battery-wise, both the S24 and the S25 pack a 4,000mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless fast charging support. The duo runs Android 15 out of the box, with One UI 7 on top. There are new AI features too, which the S24 also gets with the One UI 7 update.

What’s interesting is that Samsung has offered the Personal Data Engine with the Galaxy S24, which is a is an on-device feature that understands user information and feedback to deliver relevant results. Buyers of the S25 also get six months of Gemini Advanced and up to 2TB of cloud storage for free. The Galaxy S24 misses on these benefits.
To sum up the Galaxy S25 vs Galaxy S24 showdown, the Galaxy S25 has a slightly refined design, a new chipset, more RAM and storage, and some AI goodies in collaboration with Google.
