The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is here, and it offers some great specifications and features for the price, but then again, so does the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE. So, what exactly has changed in the latest Fan Edition. Does the S24 FE make sense for someone who already has the S23 FE? Which of the two phones should new buyers go for? Let’s find out in a head-to-head comparison.
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE vs S23 FE: Design and display
The Galaxy S24 FE doesn’t really offer a fresh perspective in terms of the design. It has an identical design, and even if you keep them next to each other, you may not notice any big of a difference.

There’s a large flat screen display on the front with minimal bezels on the three sides, except for the chin. Both phones have triple cameras on the rear placed vertically.
This time around, Samsung has increased the screen size on the Galaxy S24 FE. It features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, slightly larger than S23 FE’s 6.4-inch screen. Other than the screen size, the panel has also become brighter, having 1,900 nits of peak brightness, as opposed to S23 FE’s 1,450 nits bright panel.
Further, the Galaxy S24 FE has a stronger Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on the front, an upgrade from the Gorilla Glass 5 on the predecessor. Rest of the display specifications are the same, such as a 120Hz refresh rate support and a full-HD+ resolution.
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE vs S23 FE: Cameras
The camera system remains the same this year. Both the S24 FE and the S23 FE have a dual-rear camera system with a 50MP main lens, an 8MP telephoto lens with an 8x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor to capture all your friends in one frame.

There’s a 10MP camera on the front on both phones. Both the models can shoot 8K videos at 24 fps from the rear camera and 4K videos at up to 60fps from the rear camera. So, the camera experience on paper hasn’t changed.
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE vs S23 FE: Performance, software, extras
Coming to the performance bit, there’s a new Exynos 2400e chipset inside the Galaxy S24 FE, which is an upgrade over the Exynos 2200 inside the S23 FE. Since the former is a new chipset, we can’t comment on the actual difference yet, but expect slightly better performance. Both models have up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

There’s also an upgrade in terms of the battery. The Galaxy S24 FE packs a 4,700mAh cell, as opposed to the 4,500mAh battery inside the S23 FE. While the battery has been upgraded, the charging experience stays the same, i.e. a 25W charging support on both models.
Since the Galaxy S24 FE is newer, it boots on the latest Android 14 OS out of the box, and interestingly, it is advertised to get up to seven years of software updates. This is a big jump from the four major software update promise with the Galaxy S23 FE.
By the way, the latter runs on Android 13. So, the S24 FE should receive updates till 2031, whereas, the S23 FE will be updated till 2027.
Apart from this, both phones have Galaxy AI features, such as Live Translate, Note Assist, and Circle to Search. They also have IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and also feature in-display fingerprint scanner to offer added security.
Speaking of security, you won’t go wrong with any of these if privacy and security is your concern, as both come with Samsung’s Knox Vault.
To conclude, the new Samsung Galaxy S24 FE brings in a larger display, a new chipset, and a bigger battery over the Galaxy S23 FE. All of that makes the new Galaxy S24 FE a good upgrade, however, if you are price sensitive, you may want to consider the S23 FE as it gets you similar features for a cheaper price of Rs 47,999.
