We’re no strangers to the fact that Samsung has been looking to gain the lion’s share of the premium and mid-range segment of smartphones with its Galaxy S-series and A-series of smartphones respectively.
Now though, Samsung is also looking to establish its dominance in the budget smartphone segment, over rivals such as Oppo, Vivo, Realme, and Redmi. For the same, it has just launched two of its latest additions to the M-series of smartphones – the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G and the M15 5G. Here’s what you need to know about the two devices.
Samsung Galaxy M55 5G: Features and key specifications
The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, coupled with an Adreno GPU. The device is available in three configurations – two with 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage, and one with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Memory on the device is also expandable up to 1TB, via a microSD card.

Coming to the battery, the Galaxy M55 5G gets a the staple 5,000mAh battery seen in most phones across the segment today, with support for 45W fast charging.
On the display front, is a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. For audio, the device has a stereo-speaker setup with support for Dolby Atmos, and a voice focus feature, which can drown out ambient sounds from the background during calls and while recording audio.
Speaking of optics, the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G gets a triple-camera setup at the rear,with a 50MP primary sensor with support for OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. The phone gets a high 50MP sensor on the front as well, for selfies and video calls.
Samsung Galaxy M15 5G: Features and key specifications
The Samsung Galaxy M15 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset, and is available in 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, and 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variants. On-board storage on the phone, similar to the M55 5G, can be expanded to up to 1TB via a microSD card.
The device has a slight advantage even over the more premium M55 5G in terms of battery, and gets a 6,000mAh unit – one of the largest in the segment. Samsung claims that it is good enough to last users over two days on a single charge.
The display on the phone is a slightly smaller 6.5-inch unit, also with a full HD+ resolution. The refresh rate on the device however, is capped at 90Hz.
Coming to the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy M15 5G gets a triple camera setup at the rear as well, albeit with a 50MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. The front camera on the device is a 13MP unit.

What’s cool is, the Samsung Galaxy M15 5G, in addition to the speakers, also get a 3.5mm audio jack, for those who prefer to listen to their tunes the old school way.
Both, the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G and M15 5G come running on Android 14-based One UI 6.1 straight out of the box, and get a guaranteed four years of software updates and five years of security patches as well.
Samsung Galaxy M55, M15 5G: Pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G can be had in in two colourways – Light Green and Denim Black.
It is priced at Rs 26,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, and Rs 29,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 12GB RAM and 256GB variant is priced at Rs 32,999.
The Samsung Galaxy M15 5G on the other hand, is available in three colourways – Celestial Blue, Stone Grey, and Blue Topaz. It is priced at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB RAM variant with 128GB storage, whereas the 6GB RAM variant with 128GB storage is priced at Rs 14,499.

The two devices are available to buy on Samsung’s website and retail stores, as well as at all other partner retail outlets across the country starting today.
A few other devices you consider in the case of the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G are the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and the Realme 12 Pro 5G.
In the case of the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G, a few alternatives you can consider are the Vivo Y28 5G and the Redmi 13C 5G.
