Samsung Galaxy F16 5G launched with 6 years of software support

Still using your old 4G smartphone? Well, it’s time to upgrade. Samsung has launched a new affordable 5G smartphone in India, allowing you to easily switch to the 5G lifestyle that offers faster connectivity.

Dubbed the Samsung Galaxy F16 5G, it comes with a slew of features such as a high refresh rate display, a 50MP primary camera, and a MediaTek Dimensity chipset. Samsung has also promised six years of software updates. Sounds good? Here’s everything you need to know.

Samsung Galaxy F16 5G specifications and features

The Samsung Galaxy F16 5G boasts a new design over its predecessor. It has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The screen has 90Hz high refresh rate support, letting you get a smooth scrolling experience.

The device features a triple camera system on the back with a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide unit, and a 2MP macro sensor for close-up shots. There’s a 13MP camera upfront for selfies and video calls.

For performance, there’s the Dimensity 6300 chipset, which is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. It also has a microSD card slot for additional storage of up to 1.5TB. It is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging, the same charging speed as the standard Galaxy S25.

The device has 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and GPS support for connectivity. It has a USB-C port for charging and data transfer. The smartphone boots on Android 14 OS out of the box with One UI 6 on top. Samsung is promising six years of OS and security updates with this one.

Samsung Galaxy F16 5G price and availability

The Galaxy F16 5G starts at Rs 13,499 for the base 4GB variant and Rs 14,999 for the 6GB variant. The top variant has 8GB of RAM, and it costs Rs 16,499. Notably, all variants come with 128GB of storage.

While the Galaxy F16 5G appears to be a good entry-level smartphone, you can also check out some of its alternatives in the same price range, like the CMF Phone 1 and the Vivo T3x 5G.

Both phones come with some unique features up their sleeves, the CMF Phone 1 has a semi-modular design, whereas, the T3x 5G has a whopping 6,000mAh battery.
