Samsung Galaxy A56, A36 launched with 6 years of OS updates

Samsung is back with new A-series of phones. The latest lineup includes two new models, namely, the Samsung Galaxy A56 and the Galaxy A36. Samsung has also announced the budget-friendly Galaxy A26 in global markets. The trio comes with a similar design, with triple cameras on the back and a high refresh rate display.

What’s great about these phones is that Samsung is giving six years of software support on these models, ensuring they stay up-to-date for years to come. Here’s everything you need to know about phones.

Samsung Galaxy A56 key features

The Galaxy A56 is the top-of-the-line A-series phone, featuring a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1200 nits of brightness with the high brightness mode (HBM), and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.

Powering the smartphone is the Exynos 1580 chipset, which is a 4nm SoC with AMD’s Xclipse 540 GPU. It has up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device has a triple-rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP macro unit. It has a 12MP front camera for selfies.

The Galaxy A56 gets a special feature, which even the base Galaxy S25 lacks. A 5,000mAh battery setup with 45W of fast charging. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner for added security. There’s also an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. It has 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.3.

The device boots on Android 15 OS and has One UI 7 out of the box. As mentioned above, Samsung is giving six years of OS and security updates to make the deal sweet.

Samsung Galaxy A36 key features

The Galaxy A36 is a mid-range phone with only a few spec differences from the Galaxy A56. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and features a triple-rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP macro unit.

Apart from this, the Galaxy A36 has the same specifications as the Galaxy A56. This includes a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging.

The smartphone also has an IP67 rating and the same connectivity options as the A56. The device also runs Android 15-based One UI 7 and gets the same software support promise.

Samsung Galaxy A26 key features

The Samsung Galaxy A26 is a lower-end model with a 6.7-inch Infinity-U AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate support. It is powered by the Exynos 1380 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The smartphone has a triple-rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro unit. It has a 13MP camera for selfies. Battery-wise, it houses a 5,000mAh cell with 25W fast charging support. It boots on Android 15-based One UI 7 with six years of OS and security updates.

Price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy A56 starts at Rs 41,999, whereas, the Galaxy A36 starts at Rs 32,999. The duo will be available for purchase later this month in India. The Galaxy A26’s price is yet to be revealed, however, globally it costs around Rs 27,000.
