Even as the year draws to a close, smartphone manufacturers seem to be showing no signs of slowing down. Take Redmi for instance. The Xiaomi sub-brand has just confirmed that it will be launching its new Note 13 series devices in India on January 4. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Redmi phone.
Redmi Note 13 Series: What to expect
Redmi’s Note 13 series consists of three models – Redmi Note 13, Redmi Note 13 Pro, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+. Rumours are, that the devices will feature similar specs as the models first unveiled in China this year.
Redmi Note 13 features and key specifications
The Redmi Note 13 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset, coupled with a Mali-G57 GPU for graphics. Under the hood is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W charging.
The device will likely be available in four variants – one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB, two 8GB RAM variants with either 128 or 256GB of storage, and a 12GB RAM variant with 256GB of storage.
The display on the Redmi Note 13 is a 6.67-inch AMOLED unit with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. For audio, you also get a 3.5mm audio jack, which is good news for those who like to listen to their music the old-school way. For optics, there is a 108MP primary camera and 2MP depth sensor at the rear, and a 16MP camera on the front.
Redmi Note 13 Pro features and key specifications
The Redmi Note 13 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset coupled with an Adreno 710 GPU for graphics. The battery on the device is a 5,100mAh unit with support for 67W wired fast charging.
The Note 13 Pro is expected to be available in the following storage and RAM configurations – two 8GB RAM variants with either 128GB or 256GB of storage, two 12GB RAM variants with either 256GB or 512GB of storage space, and a 16GB RAM variant with 512GB of storage.
The device features a 6.67-inch display as well. The OLED unit has a resolution of 1,220 x 2,712 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, with a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. What’s more, it also supports Dolby Vision. For audio is a stereo-speaker setup. The device also features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro features a triple rear-camera setup, with a 2000MP primary shooter with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, again, is a 16MP camera for selfies and video calls.
The device also has an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, which means it can handle occasional spills and splashes with ease.
Redmi Note 13 Pro+ features and key specifications
The top-of-the-line Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset coupled with a Mali-G610 GPU. Under the hood is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W PD 3.0 fast charging.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is expected to be available in three variants – two with 12GB of RAM with either 256GB or 512GB of storage, and one with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
The device features a 6.67-inch curved OLED display with a resolution of 2,712 x 1,220 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1800 nits. Same as the Note 13 Pro, it also features Dolby Vision support.
Now for optics, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ features a 200MP primary camera with support for OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front is a similar 16MP camera for selfies and video calls, same as the base and the mid-tier variants.
For protection, again, the device comes with an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, as well as Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

For security, the base Redmi Note 13 features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, while the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Pro+ feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. All three devices will come running on Android 13-based MIUI14 straight out of the box.
As for when you can expect the smartphones, Redmi India has announced that it will take the wraps off its new smartphones on January 4.
