Redmi Note 13: Features and tricks to make the most of your smartphone

While the new Redmi Note 14 series is here, the Redmi Note 13 is still quite a popular smartphone in India, offering buyers in the budget and lower mid-range price segments a reliable big-screen option with decent specifications and features for a cheaper price.

It’s also available in some decent colour options, and gets premium capabilities including support for Dolby Atmos audio, and a 108-megapixel primary camera. Xiaomi’s popularity among buyers in the mid-range price bracket means that it’s a popular option that has been well-received as a capable smartphone at the price in India.

Although most features and options are fairly straightforward, the Redmi Note 13 does have some tricks and features that can help you get the most out of your smartphone. Here are some of the useful features and tricks on the smartphone, which launched with Android 13 and can be bumped up to Xiaomi’s new HyperOS user interface and operating system with an update.

Customised lock screen

A useful new feature on the Redmi Note 13 thanks to HyperOS is the customised lock screen. This includes three distinct styles – Classic, Rhombus, and Magazine – which change the appearance of your smartphone’s lock screen based on your vibe.

While Classic sticks to prioritising information and details such as weather and notifications, Rhombus gives you a focused look at the time, while Magazine focuses on your personal wallpaper to make it pop.

Revamped control centre

The new-look control centre on HyperOS comes to the Redmi Note 13, giving you a more minimalist look and helps you access quick settings and shortcuts on the smartphone. The new control centre also adds useful widgets for music playback, as well as to access key functions such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, display brightness, and more.

Game Turbo Mode

If you’re a gamer, you can activate Game Turbo Mode on the Redmi Note 13. The mode optimises the smartphone to improve performance while playing games, ensuring that processing power isn’t diverted to unneeded processes, thus improving frame rates.

Although the Redmi Note 13 is a mid-range smartphone, this mode helps gamers get an enjoyable gaming experience even with some resource-demanding games, and helps to optimise performance on the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC powering the phone.

Dual video recording

Within the camera settings, you can find the dual video recording mode on the Redmi Note 13. This lets you record videos while using both the front and rear cameras simultaneously, which can be great when filming reaction videos and to show the user’s expressions while filming with the primary cameras.

It’s a great feature that will help you get the most out of the triple-camera setup at the rear and 16-megapixel front camera on the Redmi Note 13.

There’s a lot more to go with the Redmi Note 13, making it a capable affordable smartphone, especially now when it can be purchased at a cheaper price.
