Redmi is back with a new budget smartphone that starts in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment. The all-new Redmi 14C 5G comes with a 120Hz refresh rate display, which is a first for the C-series devices. The device also has a larger battery and features a Snapdragon chipset.

Redmi 14C 5G specifications and features

The Redmi 14C 5G has a 6.88-inch display with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. It has a 120Hz refresh rate support, which is an upgrade from the 90Hz panel on the Redmi 13C 5G. The screen supports TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification and has flicker-free technology.

In terms of the cameras, the device has a dual-rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor having an f/1.8 aperture. It is assisted by an auxiliary sensor. It boasts an 8MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls.

The device draws power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. It is paired with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. Both the RAM and the storage is expandable. There’s a RAM expansion feature for the former, while users can use a microSD card to get extra storage.

As far as the battery is concerned, the device packs a 5,160mAh battery with 18W charging support. However, Redmi bundles 33W fast charging in the box. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security.

Unfortunately, the device boots on a year-old Android 14 OS with HyperOS on top. But Redmi has promised two years of Android updates and four years of security updates, which means the device will be updated to Android 15 soon.

Redmi 14C 5G price and availability

The Redmi 14C is priced at Rs 9,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant and Rs 10,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The top-of-the-line variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 11,999.

While the new Redmi 14C 5G appears to be a good 5G smartphone, you can always consider some of its alternatives, like the Realme C65 5G and Vivo T3x 5G before making your purchase decision. Both of the aforementioned phones have a high refresh rate display and a large battery.
