Qualcomm has launched the Snapdragon X platform in the Indian market, introducing the AI-ready chipset for laptops in the lower mid-range segment. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X chipset is advertised to deliver powerful performance while offering new-age connectivity.
The chipset also comes with an NPU that is capable of delivering up to 45 TOPS (trillions of operations per second). Here’s everything you need to know about the latest Snapdragon chipset for upcoming Copilot+ PCs.
All you need to know about the Snapdragon X platform
Unlike Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite chipsets, which were released last year, the standard X platform is meant for affordable laptops. It is an octa-core chipset with Qualcomm’s Oryon CPU for processing and an integrated GPU for graphical performance.
The CPU has a peak clock speed of 3.0GHz as opposed to 3.4GHz peak clock speed of X Plus and 3.8GHz peak clock speed of X Elite. Like the other two, Snapdragon X is also based on TSMC’s 4nm N4 process node, ensuring efficiency.
The chipset also has the Hexagon NPU that can deliver up to 45 TOPs. The chipset supports up to 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 30MB total cache. It supports the latest connectivity options, like 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB-C 4.
Since the Snapdragon X chipset sits below the Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite, you’d find laptops powered by this chipset in the lower mid-range segment. Asus has already announced two new Snapdragon X laptops in India, dubbed the Asus Vivobook 16 and Zenbook A14. Both laptops start at Rs 65,990.

Apart from Asus, other brands like Lenovo, HP, and Microsoft are also expected to launch Snapdragon X-powered laptops in India in the coming months.
All Snapdragon X series laptops will be available for purchase in online and offline markets. And if you want to experience these laptops before making a purchase, the Croma Juhu store has an experience zone for a hands-on experience of the already available Snapdragon X devices.
