Oppo Reno 12, Reno 12 Pro announced with curved screens

Oppo’s Reno-series smartphones are some of the best Oppo phones you can get your hands on in India, and the brand just announced the Oppo Reno 12-series phones globally today. These include the Oppo Reno 12 and Oppo Reno 12 Pro, both of which come with updated specifications and a new design, and will succeed the Oppo Reno 11 series.

Oppo Reno 12: Features and specifications

The Oppo Reno 12 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a curved OLED screen. The display also has 1200 nits brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. All of this is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 7i glass.

The Reno 12 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy chipset, which appears to be a specially modified version of the Dimensity 7300. This is coupled with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The smartphone also comes with Android 14-based ColorOS 14.1. 

Coming to the cameras, the Reno 12 comes with a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. On the front is a 32MP selfie camera for self-portraits and video calls.  

Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, IP65 certification, Bluetooth 5.4, a 5,000mAh battery and 80W fast wired charging.  

Oppo Reno 12 Pro: Features and specifications

The Oppo Reno 12 Pro also comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ screen, which again, is a curved panel with 120Hz refresh rate and 1200 nits brightness. Unlike the Pro model, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro comes with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.  

The 12 Pro is also powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy chipset, and comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The camera setup here includes a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP telephoto sensor. There’s also a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

The Oppo Reno 12 Pro is also powered by a 5,000mAh battery and 80W wired charging, and comes with features like an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, IP65 certification, Bluetooth 5.4. 

Oppo Reno 12 series: Pricing and availability

The Oppo Reno 12 is priced starting at EUR 499 (about Rs 44,730) while the Oppo Reno 12 Pro is priced starting at EUR 599 (about Rs 53,700). While the vanilla Oppo Reno 12 is offered in Matte Brown, Sunset Pink, and Astro Silver colours, the Reno 12 Pro will be available in Space Brown, Sunset Gold, and Nebula Silver colours. 

Do keep in mind that this was the global launch of these Android phones, and the Oppo Reno 12 series is yet to officially launch in India. We expect the phone to debut in India in the next few weeks, which is when we will have more details like the Indian pricing for both variants.
