Things on the flagship smartphone front have been exciting lately, with launches from multiple bigwigs, including Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, and of course Oppo, with its new Find N3 flip. Oppo A79 5G: Key specifications
Oppo on Friday launched its latest addition to its A-series lineup, the new A79 5G. The latest offering from the company is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset and is available in a single variant, with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS2.2 storage.
Under the hood is a large 5,000mAh battery, with support for 33W SuperVOOC fast charging. The device, Oppo claims, offers up to 26 hours of talk time, or up to 14 hours of continuous video streaming on a full charge.
The new Oppo A79 5G features a 6.72-inch full HD+ LCD display, with a resolution of 1,080×2,400 pixels, and a 90Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness of the display stands at 650 nits.
Speaking of the camera, on offer is a 50MP primary camera, along with a 2MP secondary lens. On the front, is an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Connectivity options on Oppo’s latest smartphone, along with Wi-Fi, include Bluetooth 5.3 support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
The Oppo A79 5G ships running on Android 13-based Color OS 13.1, straight out of the box.
Oppo A79 5G: Pricing and availability
The new Oppo A79 5G is available in two colours – mystery black and glowing green. The single 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 19,999, and can be purchased from Oppo India’s website, as well as all other major e-commerce portals and partner retail outlets across the country.
A few other alternatives one can consider over the Oppo A79 are the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite, Vivo T2 5G, and the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G.
