Next OnePlus tablet may come with Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset

OnePlus is working on its next tablet for the premium segment, and leaks suggest it might be called the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro. The tablet is expected to succeed the existing OnePlus Pad 2, which was launched last year. Some of its key specifications have been surfaced, thanks to a few certifications it went through.

The OnePlus Pad 2 Pro will come with a few key upgrades over its predecessor. Starting with the processor, the tablet may come powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is the latest and currently Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC for smartphones and tablets.

It will likely be paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. The 3C certification of the tablet reveals a faster 80W charging speed. This is a significant upgrade over the Pad 2’s 67W fast charging support.

The battery may also be upgraded from a 9,510mAh cell to a 10,000mAh one. Reports suggest that the tablet may retain an LCD screen and not an AMOLED panel. It may have a 13.2-inch screen with 3.4K resolution and high refresh rate support.

The device may have a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It may arrive with Android 15 OS out of the box. Other details about the tablet are yet to be known.

Coming to availability, the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro is expected to be announced in April in China. It is expected to be available in global markets soon after the China launch. Having said that, the tablet’s launch isn’t too far away, which is great news for those holding off on buying a new tablet.

Until the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro arrives, you can consider the OnePlus Pad 2 and the Xiaomi Pad 7. Both come in the mid-range segment and offer support for different accessories.
