OnePlus Nord 4 to get more Android updates than the OnePlus 12

OnePlus is launching its next mid-range smartphone – the OnePlus Nord 4 next week on July 16. The phone is expected to be the next in the Nord 4 series, which already includes the Nord CE4 Lite.

We’ve had some idea on what to expect from the phone, but now, OnePlus has announced that the smartphone will come with some excellent software support.

OnePlus Nord 4 software support

As per a new announcement, OnePlus will be offering 4 years of Android updates and 6 years of Android security patch updates on the OnePlus Nord 4. This will make the Nord 4 one of the first phones in mid-range segment to offer more updates than the usual 2-3 years.

Interestingly, this would also mean that the phone gets more updates than the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R, which are higher-tier devices from this year. The OnePlus 12, for instance, is set to get four years of Android updates and five years of software updates.

OnePlus Nord 4: What else do we know so far?

The OnePlus Nord 4’s biggest highlight is expected to be its design. The phone is set to sport a metal back panel, similar to some classic devices like the HTC One M8, and even the OnePlus 3 series of phones.

Not much is known about the internal specifications of the phone or the pricing, although the latter is expected to be around the Rs 30,000 price point, where OnePlus’ Nord series phones usually launch.

With the launch event being just a few days away, we will not have a long wait to find out more details around the Android phone. Stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma for all the updates.
