Remember the times when we used to look for phones with bigger screens? Well, we used to call them phablets once, but now large-screen smartphones are common. And what’s common isn’t always exciting.
That’s exactly why the trend of compact phones might be picking up. Well, there are several technical and marketing factors attached to it, but the truth is, smartphone manufacturers are making compact phones, and some of us love them.
Now, after Apple, Xiaomi, and Vivo, OnePlus appears to be launching a compact flagship. Dubbed the OnePlus 13T, the compact smartphone is set to launch this month with features like big battery, a Snapdragon chipset, and a customisable button. Here’s everything you need to know.
Here’s what to expect from the OnePlus 13T
OnePlus’ China head has confirmed that the OnePlus 13T will be a small-screen smartphone. How small? Well, previous reports suggest that it may feature a 6.3-inch flat screen, just like Xiaomi’s compact flagship – the Xiaomi 15.
The screen may support a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and 1.5K resolution to enjoy movies in high resolution. The device could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship chipset, paired with faster RAM and storage.
One of the highlights of the phone will be its battery. Despite its smaller form factor, the device may pack a 6,200mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. This could be because of the new-age silicon-carbon battery, which is also inside the OnePlus 13.
Further, the device may get a customisable button located on the sides, which will replace the traditional alert slider. This customisable button will be just like the action button on iPhones.

What’s more? The device will also boast a good set of cameras. The setup may comprise a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP 2x telephoto sensor. There may not be a dedicated ultra-wide sensor.
That’s all we know about the OnePlus 13T. However, we should learn more in the coming weeks when the it launches in China, followed by a global release.
We’ll also have to wait and see if it arrives in India anytime soon. Until then, what are your thoughts on compact phones? Do let us know in the comments below.
