Now use multiple WhatsApp accounts on your Android device: Here’s how

WhatsApp has released a slew of new features this year, one after the other. And the latest happens to be the ability to use multiple WhatsApp accounts on the same device, simultaneously. It is a feature that users have been looking forward to for a while now.

Gone are the days when you’d have to carry multiple smartphones just to keep your work and conversations with loved ones separate. Now, WhatsApp allows users to log into different accounts on the same phone, and switch between the two without any hassle.

How to set up multiple WhatsApp accounts on the same device

To use this new feature, all one needs is a second phone number, and a device with a dual-SIM slot. From there, the process to set it up is quite simple.

1. Head to the settings menu on WhatsApp.

2. There should be a small arrow next to your name. Tap on it and select “Add account.”

3. Enter your second phone number and verify the same using a code sent on it via SMS.

4. That’s it, you’re all set. You can now switch between your accounts by tapping on the arrow next to your name.

What’s cool is, you can have different privacy and notification settings for both accounts, and even mute, archive, or delete messages on them individually. You can even block the same contact on each account separately, should you choose to do so.

It must be noted however, that the feature is currently only accessible on Android devices. If and when it will be rolled out for iOS remains to be seen.
