Nothing users can now access ChatGPT’s voice assistant with a quick shortcut

Nothing Phone users, the company has some exciting news for you. Nothing Phone (1) and Nothing Phone (2) users can now use ChatGPT’s voice assistant via a new shortcut in the quick settings panel and home screen. This will allow users to access all of ChatGPT’s abilities, totally hands-free. Read on to find out more.

The new ChatGPT voice assistant integration for Nothing Phones allows users to access the generative AI platform hands-free, the way they would with Apple’s Siri or Google Assistant. Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, announced the update through a post on X (Formerly Twitter).

How to enable the ChatGPT voice assistant on your Nothing device

Here’s how to enable the new ChatGPT voice assistant on Nothing Phone (1) and Nothing Phone (2).

Step 1: Download and install the official ChatGPT app from the Google Play Store on your Nothing device.
Step 2: Access the app, and log into your account.
Step 3: Now, on the subsequent screen that appears saying “Welcome to ChatGPT,” tap on continue.
Step 4: Once done, it should lead you to the ChatGPT’s main screen, where you can type in your prompts.
Step 5: Here, tap on the headphone icon on the bottom right, and follow the on-screen prompts to set up the ChatGPT voice assistant.
Step 6: Once done, check your device’s quick settings panel.
Step 7: Here, you’ll see an option to edit the panel, denoted by a pencil. Tap on it.
Step 8: Further, search for the ChatGPT voice assistant tile, and drag it to the section that says ‘Hold and drag to re-arrange tiles’.
Step 9: Once this is done, you just need to tap on the ChatGPT icon on the quick settings panel to access the voice assistant at any time, and start giving it prompts!
Step 10: On Nothing devices, you can also long press on the ChatGPT app, and tap on the ‘Voice’ option to access the same.

The new ChatGPT voice assistant feature is available across Android and iOS devices, bringing on-device AI capabilities from the cloud closer to your devices, all the more.
