Nothing Phone (3) could be a true flagship with upgraded cameras, AI features

Carl Pei’s Nothing has been one of the most popular brands in India, and despite its late start, it instantly gained the brand value that many smartphone makers strived for. With 2024 being all about budget launches for Nothing, all eyes are now set on its 2025 release lineup.

This year, Nothing may not be just about budget phones but rather have a mixed approach with a focus on both flagships and mid-rangers. As per the CEO’s email surfaced on the web, its next smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3), could be a ‘true flagship’.

As per Pei’s email, the Nothing Phone (3) will receive several upgrades over its predecessor — the Nothing Phone (2). Pei believes that the Phone (3) will be a true flagship, as it will come with an ‘AI-powered platform’.

Nothing has also expanded its camera and software teams by almost 50 per cent, and that could result in an upgraded camera performance. Previous reports aid this information, hinting that the device may feature a telephoto sensor, which will be a first for a Nothing device.

In addition to the cameras, the device is expected to feature the latest hardware. It could also be the most powerful hardware from the likes of Qualcomm. Unfortunately, no specifics have been revealed yet. Nonetheless, we at least know that we are up for better performance, cameras, and AI features.

Apart from this, expect the smartphone to run Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.0 out of the box. As for its availability, the email hints at a Q1 release timeline, which means we can expect the Nothing Phone (3) to arrive by March 2025.

Notably, Nothing is also expected to release its other budget and mid-range phones, likely called the Nothing Phone (3a) and the Nothing Phone (3a) Plus. Both models are expected to come with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset and an improved camera system.
