Nothing Phone 2a Plus launched with a familiar design, more performance

Nothing just announced the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus, a more powerful version of the Nothing Phone (2a), which was launched earlier this year. The phone carries a similar design to the (2a), but adds some upgrades like a more powerful chip at its core and faster charging.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new smartphone, including specifications, features and price.

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus: What’s new?

The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. The display comes with a centre-aligned punch-hole camera and the phone sports the same back panel design as the Nothing Phone (2a), including the dual rear cameras in the middle and the Glyph Interface lights.

Powering the phone is the new MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Plus chipset, which Nothing claims will be exclusive to the Phone (2a) Plus thanks to a collaborative effort with MediaTek. The new chip gives the phone roughly 10 per cent more general performance and about 30 per cent more graphical performance than the Dimensity 7200 on the Phone (2a).

The cameras on the Plus are also slightly tweaked. On the back, you get the same 50MP main and 50MP ultrawide camera as the Phone (2a), but the front houses a higher-resolution 50MP camera instead of a 32Mp sensor. This also enables 4K recording at up to 30fps on the front camera.

The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus also comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 50W wired charging, which again, is slightly faster than the 45W wired charging on the Phone (2a). The device also launches with Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.6, and comes with the ChatGPT integration that recent Nothing phones got earlier this year.

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus: Pricing and availability

The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus is priced at Rs 27,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version is priced at Rs 29,999. The phone will be available from August 7. Some other Android phones in that segment include the OnePlus Nord 4 and the Realme 12 Pro 5G, both of which come with their own unique design, minus the Glyph lights of course!
