Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition launched with glow-in-the-dark design

A little over 10 days after announcing it, Nothing has finally launched the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition. Once again, the smartphone isn’t an entirely new device, but it does incorporate some rather cool new design elements.

Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition: What’s new?

The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition has been co-designed by Nothing’s in-house team and its community members as part of the Community Edition project. This project, in essence, allows one to recommend external designs, wallpapers, and even the packaging and marketing of the special edition phones. Read on.

Design

The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition is based on bringing the concept of Phosphorescence to life. Accordingly, it gets a phosphorescent back panel, which glows green in the dark.

What’s cool is that the feature is entirely analogue and doesn’t require a power source. It also gets the signature glyph lights around the rear camera module, in typical Nothing fashion.

Wallpapers and packaging

Internally, the phone also gets new wallpapers to complement the external design, from the “Connected Collection” concept. And that’s not all. The phone’s packaging also features reflective elements that glow in the dark, adding to its appeal all the more.

Mechanically, the Community Edition device is identical to the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro chipset, it gets 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The device also has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

On the back is a dual camera setup with a 50MP primary and 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 50MP sensor on the front as well. The battery on the device is a 5,000mAh unit, with support for 50W wired fast charging support.
