Mobile World Congress (MWC) has ended, and what a show it was! Like every year, this year as well, we saw some cutting-edge concepts and products, like a solar-powered laptop to a smartphone with a built-in projector. We also saw smart contact lenses that can monitor glucose levels. Intrigued? Here are some of the cool gadgets we spotted at MWC 2025.
Lenovo’s solar-powered laptop, ThinkBook Flip
One of the unique concepts we spotted at MWC was a solar-powered laptop. Yes, Lenovo actually had a laptop that reserves solar energy to keep the laptop up and running. It uses the Back Contact Cell technology, allowing the lid of the laptop to absorb sunlight. Lenovo said that in 20 minutes of direct sunlight, it can offer up to one hour of video playback.
In addition to this, Lenovo also showcased an unusual laptop concept with an outward-folding display. Called the Lenovo ThinkBook Flip, it features a tall 18-inch flexible OLED screen when fully unfolded. When folded backwards, it turns into a 13.2-inch display. When fully folded, the device turns into a 12.9-inch tablet.
Xiaomi’s modular optical system
Xiaomi showcased its modular optical system at MWC this year, and it took smartphone photography to the next level. Xiaomi’s modular optical system isn’t your usual lens setup that many brands have already experimented with. Rather, this one uses Qi2 magnets to attach to Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s back, like MagSafe for iPhones. What’s great is that it uses Xiaomi’s proprietary LaserLink technology to transfer photos to the phone for on-device post-processing.
Realme Ultra
The Realme Ultra concept phone brought the goodness of mirrorless cameras to smartphones. The device has a 1-inch-type camera sensor with support for interchangeable lenses. Realme showcased two lenses – a 73mm lens with 3x optical zoom and a 234mm lens with 10x optical zoom support. With both lenses, the device was able to offer impressive results.
Tecno Spark Slim
A slim phone with a large battery! Tecno showcased the Slim Spark at MWC, which despite having a 5,200mAh battery, has an ultra-thin body. It was advertised to be the slimmest phone (yet) in global markets, with its 5.75mm thickness. Apart from this, it also featured a unique rear design with dual cameras placed adjacent to each other.
Oukitel’s big battery projector phone
A rugged phone that doubles up as a projector? Oukitel’s latest smartphone is a bulky rugged phone that houses a whopping 33,000mAh battery. It also has a built-in projector, allowing you to carry it anywhere you go and enjoy up to six movies on a single charge. Interestingly, this big battery phone isn’t a concept, and you can actually buy it globally for $899 (about Rs 78,300).
Infinix’s SolarEnergy-Reserve technology
Infinix showcased a special case for its Note 50 smartphone that features SolarEnergy-Reserve technology, allowing the case to capture light and uses it to charge the phone wirelessly. According to Infinix, even with a bright flashing light, the case can to charge the device.

The case can store up to 2 watts of energy and power the phone when needed. While this technology isn’t meant to replace standard charging, Infinix believes it may offer a better standby time.

XPANCEO's smart contact lenses
Smart glasses are on the trend now, and we may eventually use one owing to their convenience. But this year at MWC, we saw smart contact lenses from XPANCEO that feature a microdisplay to show images. There were other similar contact lenses that help you analyse tear fluid to monitor glucose levels and detect glaucoma. Sounds like a sci-fi concept, right? While these were prototypes, the end goal of such prototypes is to materialise into one product that does it all.

These were some of the coolest products and concepts we spotted at MWC 2025. Which one of these would you like to try? Do let us know in the comments below.
