Meta’s Hypernova smart glasses may cost you a bomb; here’s why

Meta has been working on smart wearable devices for a while, and it has a lot to show in its portfolio. Consider the Ray-Ban Meta glasses, which are one of its most popular smart glasses, as they blend tech with fashion. And the best thing is that they don’t cost a lot.

But Meta’s next smart glasses may cost you a bomb. Codenamed Hypernova, Meta’s upcoming smart glasses will reportedly pack a bunch of features, including support for apps and touch controls. And, guess what, they could be as expensive as a flagship smartphone. Here’s everything you need to know.

All about the Meta Hypernova smart glasses

According to a report by Bloomberg, Meta is working on its deluxe smart glasses, and it might launch them by the end of this year. What’s interesting is that these smart glasses may be quite different from your regular pair of smart glasses.

They may come with a slew of features. This includes a small screen located on the lower-right side of the right lens. This tiny screen may display a boot screen when powered on, followed by a home screen.

Reportedly, you’ll be greeted by a row of circular app icons that allow you to snap photos, use all the utility features like maps, and also view media stored on the glasses.

This aside, the Meta Hypernova smart glasses will work similarly to the Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses. There are no leaks about the design of the glasses, so far. Whether they will have a fashionable design, or a tech-heavy look remains to be seen.

The Hypernova smart glasses may also have touch controls on the sides. Users can scroll through the UI, including menus and apps, by performing touch gestures. Moreover, these smart glasses may ship with a neural wristband that allows you to control the actions of a wearable (kind of like the double-tap gesture on the Apple Watch).

Furthermore, Meta may offer an improved camera, an upgrade from the 12MP camera sensor of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Lastly. The smart glasses could be shipped in a new carrying case that’s shaped like a triangular prism.

Given all these features, the Meta Hypernova smart glasses may cost you a lot. How much exactly? Over $1,000 (about Rs 85,000). So, what do you think about Meta’s upcoming smart glasses? Are you planning to get them? If yes, then you might want to start saving some cash.
