Lenovo has announced a new tablet that focuses on gaming. The Lenovo Legion Y700 2024 Edition comes with several upgrades over its predecessor. Some of its highlights include an improved screen with a 165Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 series flagship chipset, and an upgraded cooling system to keep the thermals in check.

Lenovo Legion Y700 specifications and features

The Legion Legion Y700 gaming tablet has an updated design with the Legion branding now placed at the center in the rear. The rest of the tablet looks very similar to the Lenovo Legion Tab we recently reviewed.

The device features the same 8.8-inch display as the predecessor, however, has a 165Hz refresh rate, an upgrade over the 144Hz panel on the Y700 (2023). The screen has a 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution and a 343 PPI pixel density. The screen has features like DCI-P3 colour gamut and 500 nits of typical brightness.

One massive upgrade that the latest Y700 tablet brings is a new chipset. The tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a much-needed upgrade over the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC inside the Y700 (2023). It has up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage.

The tablet has Lenovo’s QianKun cooling architecture, which a large 10,004mm2 vapor chamber to dissipate the heat caused while gaming for long hours. As for the battery, the tablet packs the same battery as the predecessor, a 6,550mAh cell.

The tablet is claimed to offer up to 8.9 hours of gaming and 14.6 hours of video playback, which means you can easily binge watch your favourite Netflix show. It runs on Android 14 OS out of the box and has ZUI 16.1 on top. It boasts dual X-axis linear motors and dual ultra-linear speakers for haptics and a punchy audio.

Lenovo Legion Y700 price and availability

The Lenovo Legion Y700 2024 Edition is priced at CNY 2,899 (about Rs 34,600) for the 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage variant. The top variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage costs CNY 3,299 (about Rs 39,400). It comes in Carbon Black and Ice White colour options, and the latter will cost you CNY 100 (about Rs 1,200) more.

Unfortunately, the tablet isn’t available in India yet. While you wait for it to arrive, you can consider some of its alternatives with similar specifications like the OnePlus Pad 2, which has a larger display and the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
