Lava Blaze X launched under Rs 15,000 with curved AMOLED display

Phones under the Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 segment are not just affordable smartphones anymore. They are also value-for-money devices, that cater to the needs of the masses and provide several features that users need on a day-to-day basis. The latest launch in this segment is the Lava Blaze X, a sub Rs 15,000 phone that packs a pretty good list of specifications.

Here’s everything you need to know about this device, its top features and specifications, which should help you get a clear idea of what this phone brings to the table and whether it is for you.

Lava Blaze X: What’s new?

The Lava Blaze X comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ display that happens to be a curved AMOLED panel, allowing the phone to offer crisper colours and better contrast levels than most LCD display phones in the segment. The panel also comes with 120Hz refresh rate, which means everything from UI navigation to supported games look and feel very smooth.

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, and this is coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. However, there is no support for expandable memory card slots.

On the back of the Android phone we have a 64MP Sony camera sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) which helps with clearer night photos and minimizes shake when taking pictures. There is also a 2MP depth sensor on the back for portrait shots. On the front, meanwhile is a 16MP selfie camera.

Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner and stock Android 14 with no custom skin on top, which should offer better performance and a lighter overall footprint on the phone’s resources. The Lava Blaze X comes with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 33W fast wired charging.

Lava Blaze X: Pricing and availability

The Lava Blaze X is priced starting at Rs 14,999 in India, although the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs 16,999. The phone is available in two colours – Starlight Purple and Titanium Grey.

The phone makes for a good overall device for anyone looking for a new phone under Rs 15,000 – Rs 17,000. However, the highlight here is the curved AMOLED screen which gives the phone a premium feel, and stock Android. Other options in this segment include the Vivo T3X 5G or, if you can stretch your budget a little bit more, the Realme 12 5G.
