The next Pro iPhone may have the world’s thinnest bezels on a smartphone

iPhone 16 Pro may get even thinner bezels

We’re in June and Apple is set to kick off its WWDC 2024 next week, and after iOS 18 and other software updates are announced, the next big event will likely be Apple’s annual smartphone launch in September, where the brand may unveil the iPhone 16 series.

As usual, no official details on the next iPhones have been teased by Apple just yet. However, just like every year, numerous leaks and rumours have started surfacing around the new iPhones, especially the Pro ones. Now, the latest leaks suggest a major design change that may just help the next iPhones look even more futuristic.

As per recent leaks by X user Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), who has had an excellent track record in predicting smartphone specifications and designs ahead of launch, the next Pro iPhone will have even thinner bezels than the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

This is astonishing, given how the iPhone 15 Pro series had already reduced the bezel sizes significantly, giving the phones a slightly different look. This is especially visible when the devices are placed next to an older iPhone like the iPhone 14.

iPhone 16 series leaks: Will the bezels come to the base models?

It remains to be seen if the change will also come to the base models this year, or if only the Pro models will get the newer, slimmer bezels. The post also adds that the bezels will actually surpass those on the Samsung Galaxy S24, and make the iPhone 16 Pro sport the “world’s narrowest bezels”.

Other expected changes in the new lineup include larger displays on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max (which would also likely mean bigger batteries), as well as the Action Button now being a part of the entire lineup and not just the Pro models.

Of course, official clarification on these changes will only come during Apple’s launch event, so we suggest taking these leaks with a grain of salt until then.
