Apple’s iOS 18.1 recently arrived with the much-awaited features like Apple Intelligence and Siri updates. All eyes are now set on the next iOS 18.2 update, which will make its way to iPhones in December. The update is said to bring notable features and changes like Image Playgrounds, Genmoji, and ChatGPT integration with Siri.
Now, as per a new report, iOS 18.2 may bring another useful feature that will show how long it will take for your iPhone to charge. Let’s see everything we know about this feature before its arrival next month.
Here's how iOS 18.2's Battery Intelligence feature may work
Apple’s iOS 18.2 update appears to bring some useful features and one such feature was recently spotted by 9to5Mac. iOS 18.2 beta 2’s code has a new framework called ‘Battery Intelligence’ that tell you the estimated time to recharge your iPhone.

The feature will likely calculate the total time to full charge the iPhone by considering the amount of energy being received by the device. So, depending on the power adapter you use, iPhones on iOS 18.2 may show you the estimated full charge time.
Those who set 80 per cent or any other charging limit will also get to know the estimated charging time to reach that percentage. This feature can be very useful and may help users to figure out when they need to put their iPhones to charge so it can be full or reach the set limit before they think of plugging it out.
While this feature may sound like an Android-inspired one, a similar feature it already available for MacBooks. MacBook users can see their estimated charging time in the Battery menu.
Other than this, Apple has already added many Battery-related updates to iPhones with iOS 18. iPhone recently got the ability to set a custom charging limit. So, users don’t have to set the standard 80 per cent limit, but can even set a charge limit of 85 per cent, 90 per cent, and 95 per cent.
Apple’s iOS 18.2 is turning out to be a feature-rich update. As mentioned above, it will bring Image Playgrounds that will allow users to create AI-generated images. Siri will get ChatGPT integration with the update, letting you do many things that standalone Siri can’t do. Further, Apple’s Genmoji is also coming to iPhones with the update.
iOS 18.2 is coming in December for the public and we’ll be testing all its features once available, so stay tuned on Unboxed by Croma for its updates.
