Instagram is one of the most popular social media apps globally, however, to edit Reels, we often tend to use third-party apps like CapCut. Now, however, the Meta-owned app has announced its very own video editing app called ‘Edits’.

Edits is a video editor from Instagram for Instagram users. The app allows users to edit their footage with different effects and filters. The app also includes a variety of fonts, stickers, and background noise reduction features. Users can also easily generate captions for their videos with a few taps.

Instagram has also added a splash of AI in the app, allowing you to bring images to life with AI animation. Users can go further and play around with the framerate, dynamic range, zoom controls, and more for their videos.

Apart from being a video editor, Edits also allows you to capture high resolution videos. Users can capture videos of up to 10 minutes long and start editing them right away — all within the app. The app allows users to easily share their edited videos to Instagram in 1080p resolution.

Unlike some other video editing apps, Edits lets you export videos without any watermark. What’s more is that the app also shows insights for your videos on Instagram. This includes Reels views, reach, and more.

Instagram Edits will be available for downloading from March 13 on App Store for iPhones. The app’s Android availability is still a question, but we can expect it to be available on the Google platform later.
