Instagram now allows you to schedule DMs; Here’s how

Instagram has quietly rolled out a new feature on the platform that we never knew we needed, until it’s here. The feature in question is the ability to schedule DMs on Instagram. Yes, with the latest feature, you can finally send messages in DMs for a later date and time.

If that sounds like a useful feature to you, follow along to learn more about it, and see how you can use the feature on the platform.

Here’s how you can schedule DMs on Instagram

The Meta-owned platform, Instagram, has received a new feature that allows users to schedule direct messages or in other words DMs. Well, so knew about the ability to schedule posts and reels, and it’s very useful for creators.

Thanks to the latest feature, we can also send DMs on a later date and time. This can be particularly useful for those who want to send important messages to someone on a specific date. For instance, you may want to schedule a Happy Birthday greeting to a friend of yours you met online. This feature will help you do just that.

Scheduled messages are also handy when communicating with those from other time zones, and with the fact that your Instagram followers could be from anywhere in the world, that is quite a handy feature to have.

Scheduling DMs on Instagram is an easy job, all you need to do is, simply compose the message, then press and hold the send button to bring up the date and timer. Now, simply schedule the message and you are done. Once you schedule a message, it will show up in the banner notifying you that you have a message scheduled to go on a later date.

Instagram allows you to schedule a message for up to 29 days in advance, which is a decent timeframe. We’ll have to wait and see if Instagram allows a wider timeframe, like a more than a month and up to a year, so people don’t miss wishing happy birthdays to their online friends.

That’s all for this feature. But Instagram isn’t stopping here. The Meta-owned platform has been bringing new features to DMs, and one such feature that it recently rolled out was the ability to share live location with friends via DMs. This is a feature similar to Snapchat’s Snap Map and Apple’s Find My on iPhones.
