How to mute someone on Instagram without them knowing

How to mute someone on Instagram?

Muting someone on Instagram is a great way to take a break from their content without completely cutting ties. The good news is that Instagram doesn’t notify users when they’ve been muted. This means you can freely mute someone’s posts or stories without them ever knowing. There are a few ways to mute someone on the platform, depending on whether you want to silence their posts, stories, or messages. Here’s how to do so discreetly on your smartphones. 

1. Muting Posts and Stories: 

i. Find a post from the person you want to mute in your feed. 

ii. Tap the three dots (…) in the top right corner of the post. 

iii. Select “Mute” and choose “Mute Posts” or “Mute Posts and Story” depending on your preference. 

2. Muting Stories from the Feed: 

i. Tap and hold the profile picture of the person you want to mute in the story bar at the top of your feed. 

ii. Then, simply select “Mute Story.” 

3. Muting Direct Messages: 

i. Open your Instagram DMs and navigate to the chat with the person you want to mute. 

ii. Swipe right on the chat thread.

iii. You’ll see options to mute messages or calls (or both). Select either mute messages or calls (or both) and this will now mute any and all notifications from that particular account.
