A phone running low on storage can have multiple unwanted effects. From lags, slow loading to frequent hangs, a filled phone isn’t the best thing to have on you. So, what do you in such a scenario? Surely not delete all your previous memories and messages.
Some phones, especially in the Android world, allow you to insert an external SD card and store everything from files and documents to videos and photographs. But if you’re wondering what the process is, read on to find out.
How to move apps to SD card
Follow the steps below to move Android apps to your microSD card.
1. Open Settings
2. Click on Apps
3. Select the apps
4. Tap on Storage
5. Change the app location
1. Open Settings
To move the internal apps to your SD card using an application manager, navigate to the Settings menu on your phone. You can either access it from the navigation shortcuts or from the app drawers.
2. Click on Apps
From the Settings, click on the Apps option. You will either find the list of existing apps under the “Your apps section”, or you may get an option called “App Management”.
3. Select the apps
Once you find a way through it, following either option above, select an app you want to move to the SD card.

Unfortunately, you cannot manage multiple apps to move at once. Hence, select one app at a time which you wish to move.
4. Tap on Storage
Once you click on the app, you will find a Storage option, which will display details of storage used and the actual location where the app is stored. If your Android device provides the option to change the storage path, you will find a “Change” option under the internal storage details.
5. Change the app location
If you don’t find the “Change” option, unfortunately, your phone doesn’t support this facility, indicating the app cannot be moved. But if it shows up, voila! Change the app location from internal storage to “Transcend SD card”.
If you wish to move the selected apps back to internal storage, hit the Change option again and select Internal Storage this time.
With these simple steps, you can move as many apps as you wish from internal storage to SD card.
