How can locking your Facebook account help?

Once you lock your Facebook account, your profile, your posts, and the various photos and videos will only be visible to those on your friends list. Even the information you’ve added in the About section will only be visible to those selected people on your list.

How to lock your Facebook profile

Locking your Facebook profile is a fairly easy process and requires a few steps to be followed.  

Step 1: Log in to your Facebook profile using your smartphone, laptop, or computer and then tap on your profile picture. 

Step 2: On your profile screen, beside the Edit profile, you will see three horizontal dots. Tap on those dots.

Step 3: After tapping, you will get a list of options; find the Lock profile and click on that. 

Step 4: Click on Confirm. This will immediately put a shield on your Facebook profile content and hide it from strangers. 

Step 5: If you want to unlock your locked profile, click on the three dots and select Unlock profile.
