How to ask ChatGPT to roast your Instagram feed

Of the many viral trends circulating on social media, the one where you get ChatGPT to roast your Instagram feed is among the most fun. How better to gain keen insight into your penchant for posting anything and everything that comes to mind than by putting tens of thousands of GPUs to work analysing your feed? Just feed ChatGPT a snapshot of your feed, type in a few queries, and boom! ChatGPT is now roasting you.

How to get ChatGPT to roast your Instagram feed

The first thing you need is an image of your Instagram feed. This is easily done.

If you’re on your phone, open the Instagram app, tap on your profile picture, scroll till your screen is filled with all the posts that you want Instagram to analyse, then take a screenshot. On an iPhone, you can take a screenshot by pressing the volume up and standby button simultaneously, while on most Android smartphones you need to hit the power and volume down buttons together.

If you have a screenshot app or feature that takes a scrolling screenshot, that’s even better as you can give ChatGPT more information to work with. To access Instagram on a PC or Mac, you’ll need to head to instagram.com via your browser. On a PC you can use win+shift+s to open the snipping tool, while on a Mac you can use cmd+shift+s.

Once you have a screenshot, copy and paste it into ChatGPT. This works in both the app and the browser version of ChatGPT. You can also save the image and upload it to ChatGPT by tapping/clicking the attachment icon and navigating to the folder where the image is stored.

Once the image is pasted or uploaded into ChatGPT, use the message box to fashion a query asking ChatGPT to roast your Insta feed (“Please roast my Insta feed”) It’s that simple!

Tuning ChatGPT’s responses

If you’re unhappy with the roast, give ChatGPT specific feedback on its response. Perhaps you want the response to be more snarky, or maybe ChatGPT was being too nice. Whatever the case, keep prompting ChatGPT to give you a proper roast.

Take a screenshot of the chat and post it to social media for fake internet points! Congratulations, you’re now part of the viral trend.

Wait... there’s more!

ChatGPT isn’t just a tool for roasting your persona, you can also use it to fine-tune your feed to help you reach your target audience. Rather than ask for a roast, upload an image of your feed and ask ChatGPT for some constructive criticism and feedback.

Explain your goals, ask ChatGPT if your current feed is achieving those goals, and what you can do to improve.

You’ll be surprised at just how effective ChatGPT can be when it comes to refining your feed and gaining more reach. Remember, ChatGPT is only a tool like any other. Learning how to wield it correctly, and to your benefit, can be an amazing experience in itself.
