How to get a blue tick on Instagram

Some Instagram profiles stand out among others, and that’s thanks to the iconic blue tick. These are Instagram’s verified badges, essentially small icons that let users know that you are a notable personality in your profession. Profiles with verified blue ticks have more recognition and notability than the regular profiles.

This translates to a bunch of real-life perks for verified Instagram users. Verified users not only have more credibility, but also stand out in search results and comments. But how exactly do you get a blue tick on Instagram? Does it require money? Is it permanent? We’ll answer all these questions in today’s blog.

How to get a blue tick on Instagram

There are two ways to get a blue tick on Instagram. The first is by applying for verification, and the second is by paying a monthly subscription for Meta Verified.

Both these methods have some differences, but they both allow you to flaunt a blue tick. This tick is then visible to pretty much anyone who comes across your profile on their smartphones, laptops or any other device.

How to apply for Instagram verification

When you apply for verification on Instagram, you are asked to fill out a form and include details like your profession, as well as links to posts, videos, or other media that support your notability.

Your application will be reviewed by Instagram, and if the platform determines that you are notable enough, you will be verified. When taking this approach, your verification remains permanent for as long as you don’t change your username. There is no subscription fee required either.

To proceed with applying for verification, you can head to the Instagram settings in your app and search for ‘Request Verification’. You should see the section in the results, from where you can start filling your application form and adding other relevant details. Submit the application once you’re done and you will be asked to wait for Instagram to get back with your review. Now all you need to do, is to be patient.

Note that being eligible for verification and submitting your application doesn’t guarantee getting verified. Verification is subject to Instagram’s review team’s decisions, and if your application is rejected, you can always try again after a couple of months.

How to get a Meta Verified subscription

If you’re not notable enough, but still want your profile to have a blue tick, you can opt for the paid Meta Verified subscription. This is a paid subscription that allows your profile to sport a verified badge in exchange for a monthly fee. In India, this fee is currently Rs 699 per month.

To proceed with getting a Meta Verified subscription, you can head again to the Instagram Settings and search for ‘Meta Verified’. Proceed with on-screen instructions and make the payment, and after a short verification process that confirms your identity, you will be able to flaunt the blue tick right away. The recurring subscription can be cancelled at any time should you no longer need the verification.

There you go! Those are two ways to get the blue tick on Instagram. We hope you find at least one of them useful. Time to get started and go earn your blue tick now!
