How to delete your Instagram account

What happens when you delete your Instagram account?

When you delete your Instagram account, you cannot recover any data that is associated with it. This also means:

1. Your profile will be permanently removed from Instagram. No one can find you with your username.

2. All photos, stories, comments, videos and any other content will be out of access.

3. Your followers and the following list will be lost. You will no longer appear in anyone’s list of followers or followers.

4. All messages and conversations that you had with your friends will permanently disappear. 

Steps on how to delete your Instagram account

The below steps will help you delete your Instagram quickly through the application or website.

Step 1: Log in to your Instagram account and tap on the profile picture on the bottom right. 

Step 2: Click on the three horizontal lines on the top right. 

Step 3: You will see a list of options; click on Settings and Privacy. 

Step 4: Open Settings and Privacy on your Instagram app; navigate to Accounts Centre and tap on See more.

Step 5: You will find an option named Personal Details. Click on that option. 

Step 6: Go to Account Ownership and control, where you’ll find two options: Deactivation and Deletion. 

Step 7: Click on Deletion. If you have multiple accounts, then tap on the account you want to delete. 

Step 8: Click on Delete account and tap on Continue. This will permanently delete your account.
