Chrome for iPhone just got a whole lot better: Here's how

How to customise the Google Chrome menu bar on iPhones

One of the best aspects about Google Chrome since the browser grew to popularity, has been the ability to customise the interface of the browser, putting your most used features and options front and centre for easy access. While this largely carried over to Google Chrome’s app for Android phones, the same didn’t really happen with the iOS Chrome app, which felt really rigid.

That changes now with one of Chrome for iPhone’s latest features – a customisable main menu bar. This is the bar that pops up from the bottom of the browser when you press the three-dot menu.

Until recently, the default options it shows are Settings, Bookmarks, Reading List, What’s new, and Password Manager (among some other options). However, you can now customise the options that show up there, and their order. Here’s how.

How to customise the menu bar on Chrome for iPhone

There are a few easy steps to change the Chrome for iPhone menu bar to just the way you want it.

Step 1: Update Chrome for iPhone

Head to the App Store and search for Google Chrome. If you see an update icon visible, it means you’re not on the latest version of the app. Simply tap on the option to update your Chrome app to the newest version.

Step 2: Open Chrome and find the menu bar customisation option

Open the newly updated browser, and on the options that pop up on the bottom, press the three-dot menu on the right. This should take you to the menu bar. Now scroll down till you see a ‘Customise Menu’ option and tap on it.

Step 3: Customise the menu bar to your liking

On the customisation page, you will be able to see the menu bar options on top. You can drag and drop them to set an order you find useful. You can then also choose which of the secondary menu bar options you want to show up in the section below. These can also be reordered, by dragging the sliders on the right side of the options.

That is how you can customise the Chrome for iPhone menu bar to your liking, in a few easy steps. Stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma for more tips and tricks.
