There are several methods to extract or copy text from images using Google Lens. Depending on your device and where the image is located, here’s how you can easily grab text from images using Google Lens. 

Copying text from images in real-time with Google Lens

Google Lens lets you copy text from images in real-time on both Android smartphones and iPhones. On Android, it comes pre-installed, but on iOS, you’ll need to install it separately.

Here’s how to do it: 

1. Open the Google app and tap the Google Lens icon in the search bar. 

2. Point your camera at the text you want, then tap to capture. 

3. Pick out the text you need and tap “Copy Text” to save it for later.

Copying text from already saved photos with Google Lens

You can also extract text from images already in your phone using Google Lens, either via the Google app or Google Photos. 

Using Google Search Bar

1. Open the Google app and tap the Google Lens icon. 

2. Go to your Gallery and select the image containing the text you want to copy. 

3. Tap and hold on the text, then hit “Copy Text.”

Using Google Photos app

1. Open the Google Photos app and select the photo. 

2. Tap the Google Lens icon at the bottom, select the text to copy and then tap “Copy text.”

Copying text from online images with Google Lens

If you’ve found something online you need to quote or share, then you can extract text from images found online using Google Lens via Google Search or Chrome browser.

Using Google Search

1. Open Google Search on your phone and search for the image. 

2. Tap the Google Lens icon at the bottom-left of the image.

Using Chrome browser

1. Long-press the image on a website and select “Search image with Google.” 

2. Tap the Text tab, choose “Select all,” then “Copy text.”
