How to change your Chat Theme on WhatsApp

Opening WhatsApp lately has been as interesting as watching paint dry. If you’re bored of being greeted by a load of promotional messages and those familiar green bubbles, you now have the option to change one of these! WhatsApp has finally made Chat Themes available and it will allow you to add a splash of colours to the otherwise monotonous default conversation.

A step-by-step guide to changing your WhatsApp Chat Theme

Changing your WhatsApp wallpaper is good, but what if we tell you, you can switch up your chat wallpaper and its chat bubbles? Here’s how to achieve this:

Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your smartphone and tap on the three-dot menu at the far right

Step 2: Within this, you will find the Settings option

Step 3: On tapping this, you will find a bunch of other options, including Chats; tap on this

Step 4: Here, you should find the ‘Default Theme’ option which will reveal a host of options to choose from

Step 5: Once you’ve selected, your theme should reflect within your chats

If you only want to change your chat bubble colour, you can tap on ‘Chat Colour’ at the bottom of the page and choose from the shades on the list. If that’s not all, you can also change themes for individual chats, which is a borrowed feature from Meta’s other social media property – Instagram.

WhatsApp has been introducing various changes, and several seem to be in the pipeline. Recently, the Meta-owned messaging platform also introduced ChatGTP integration for users looking for AI support on chat.
