How to change an Apple Watch band

The Apple Watch series is considered the best smartwatch for its seamless connectivity and features. However, the aesthetics of the signature Apple Watch are also key deciding factors for buyers when they get a new Apple Watch. Unfortunately, no matter how much you love how your watch looks, designs can get monotonous, and changing your watch face may not always be enough.

The good news is that you can also change the strap of your Apple Watch, and while it does not directly affect your dial or what’s on display, changing the strap can dramatically change the overall look and feel of the watch on your wrist. It can also make the watch match your outfits for specific occasions. If you find the idea interesting, here’s how you can change the strap on your Apple Watch.

How to get replacement straps for your Apple Watch?

You will be able to find new straps for all variants. However, not all of them will be compatible with every Apple Watch. So, remember to check compatibility for your specific Apple Watch model when buying a new strap. Most Apple Watch models will have the 45mm or the 38mm strap but do be sure to double-check your exact size.

You will find straps from Apple (first-party straps) as well as from other manufacturers (third-party straps). If you’re going for one of these, try them out first in the offline market before purchasing.

Why should you change the strap?

We all love wearing accessories while dressing up. Watches have won a great game in this race as they’re fashionable and instrumental. With the introduction of smartwatches, the watches have become even more helpful. You can do everything, beginning from making calls, reading essential texts, and tracking your daily health activity with your Apple Watch and other smartwatches.

Adding to that, you can also fully customise your Apple Watch and make it look any way you want, and with this comes the option of changing the band strap.

Often, the strap can also wear out or look dull because of dust and exposure to sunlight and water; hence, you may need to change it into a newer and better one.

Key takeaways while changing the Apple Watch strap

– Before choosing or purchasing a new strap, you should check its size and whether or not it is compatible with your device.

– After having a new belt with yourself, check the band release button and slide it in the direction it opens. You will hear a click sound, and you’re good to go.

– Now, remove the older belt and then insert the newer band in the same way and same direction so that it is placed correctly.

– Slide the button back again after placing the new band. Make sure you check the symmetry and then lock the button back again. All set!

– In case you have a different belt, unlike the normal soft leather one, you might have to remove the mid-link of the two side straps. It is even easier than the standard belt-changing steps.
