1. On your Android device, open your default calling app.
2. Usually found in the top-right corner of the screen, tap the settings symbol, represented by three dots.
3. Select the “blocked numbers” option. The exact name for the same could vary depending on the device’s manufacturer or the Android version.
4. In the block list settings, you will find options to add numbers to the same. Here, tap on “Add a number” or “block unknown numbers.”
5. You’ll be presented with options for blocking numbers in a pop-up window, or a new screen will open.
6. To prevent calls and messages from hidden or unknown numbers, turn on the toggle switch or check the box next to the “unknown numbers” option.
7. Confirm your choice, then click on “exit” to leave the settings menu.
8. Your smartphone now won’t receive calls or messages from unknown numbers. These numbers, additionally won’t show up in your call history either.
How to block calls from private numbers on Android phones
The steps below can be used to block calls from private numbers on an Android device
1. On your Android device, look for and open the default calling app.
2. Head to the settings menu, usually found by tapping on the gear gear icon or the three-dot menu on the top right.
3. Look for a setting which mentions blocked numbers or call blocking. The exact name of the setting could vary based on the manufacturer of the device and the Android version one is using.
4. Look for an option which enables one to restrict calls from private or unauthorised callers directly. The option can say “block private numbers” or “block unknown callers.”

5. Toggle the switch or checkbox next to it to activate it.
6. If the “save” or “apply” option is present after enabling this feature, click on the same to save your adjustments.
