Now, there is only so much one can ignore calls, or only so long one can put their phones on silent mode. Some calls may be crucial and it is important to filter the important and unwanted ones, such that the former isn’t missed.

What are spam calls?

Spam calls are uninvited calls from telemarketers or even automated calls, which more often than not, push scams, advertisements, or even phishing attacks. Along with disturbing people, they could also endanger their safety and privacy.

How to block spam calls on iPhone

On an iPhone, there are numerous ways to stop unwanted calls. This guide will run you through all the ways in which you can stop these unwanted calls/

1. Put a stop to the unknown caller ids

a. Open the “settings” application

b. Click on the “phone” tab

c. Turn the “silence unknown callers” feature on

However, remember that the users of these numbers can still leave you voicemails along with missed calls.

2. Make use of third-party programs to block spam calls

There are many third-party apps that also enable one to block spam calls on their iPhone, one of the most popular ones being Truecaller. However, there are also numerous other options. Here’s how to use them on your iPhone.

a. Find and download your preferred spam detection and filtration app on the App Store

b. On your iPhone, go to the “Settings” menu

c. In the Settings app, head to the “Phone” tab

d. Select “Call Blocking & Identification,” and slide the toggle to the right

e. That’s it, you’re done! Spam calls should start to automatically get filtered and blocked on your iPhone now

3. Block individual numbers

One may also receive spam calls from an individual number or set of numbers. In such a case, one can also block these. Here’s how:

a. Open “Phone” app on your iPhone

b. Select the “recents” tab.

c. Tap on the “I” icon

d. Choose the “Block this caller” option

e. It will turn red immediately after selecting the “Block this caller” option. Tap on the subsequent pop-up which says “Block Contact” in red

4. Speak with your carrier

Regardless of which mobile service carrier you have, there are tools that can be installed on your iPhone to stop spam calls at the source. They all work similarly, filtering out telemarketers and other unknown numbers. Some offer additional premium alternatives too.
