MWC 2025: HMD unveils family-focused feature phones with a spotlight on safety

Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 has successfully kicked off in Barcelona, and the world is gearing up to see what brands have in store. While some of the most exciting days are still ahead of us, we have already begun receiving on-ground updates from Barcelona.

HMD Global, on Sunday, announced a brand new line-up of four feature phones, including the HMD 2660 Flip, HMD 150 Music, HMD 130 Music, as well as a special FC Barcelona-themed edition of the 3210. Here’s everything you need to know about the announcement.

HMD 2660 Flip, 150 and 130 Music: What's there to know?

Nokia’s classic clamshell flip design makes a comeback with the HMD 2660 Flip. With a 2.8-inch QVGA display and a 1.77-inch secondary screen, the phone is available in eye-catching shades of Twilight Violet, Raspberry Red, and Cosy Black. For protection, the 2660 comes with a Mohs 4 hardness surface and an IP54 water resistance rating.

Apart from that, HMD has also equipped the phone with a VGA camera at the back and a removable 1,450mAh battery. While you get no internet connectivity or apps, there’s still an FM radio, MP3 player, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and a 3.5mm jack to make the most of your digital detox. Lastly, the phone comes with the Unisoc T107 chipset and gets up to 128MB of storage along with 64MB of RAM.

HMD’s 150 and 130 Music, on the other hand, are phones for audiophiles who can’t do without music on the go. Both phones largely look alike; however, it is the lack of a camera on the HMD 130 which sets it apart from its counterpart – the HMD 150. The HMD 150 gets a QVGA camera at the back for photography.

With large built-in speakers at the back and music control buttons on the side, the phones get a 2.4-inch QVGA TN display with a 2,500 mAh removable battery.

The phones also get dual SIM and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, along with a 2.5mm audio jack for wired earphones. Additionally, they are supported by the Unisoc 6531F chipset for performance.

HMD at MWC 2025: What else is new?

If that’s not all, HMD reintroduced the 3210 with a Barcelona-themed revamp. The phone comes in the signature blue and red skins, especially for enthusiastic fans. It gets a 2.4-inch TFT LCD with QVGA resolution and also a 2MP main camera with flash on the back panel.

Lastly, the Finnish company also unveiled the Fusion X1, a phone that is designed to give children healthier digital habits. The brand, in partnership with Xplora, allows parents to subscribe and manage their child’s screen time. It also brings in easy-to-set location alerts to the phone, controlled contacts, as well as app approvals to ensure security at all times.

While it is hard to tell when the phones will hit the floors in the Indian markets, it does look like HMD’s prime focus for the year remains on nostalgia, digital well-being and safety. For more on-ground coverage from MWC 2025, make sure you’re subscribed to Unboxed by Croma.
