How to access Meta’s AI-powered chatbot on WhatsApp

WhatsApp has lately received new features at an almost dizzying pace and seems to be showing no signs of slowing down. The latest in line, as per WABetaInfo, happens to be an integration with meta’s AI-powered chatbot, which can be accessed with the tap of a button.

What is this chatbot and how to access it on WhatsApp

The integration of meta’s AI-powered chatbot isn’t a new feature per se. The company first introduced its AI chatbot on WhatsApp, as part of a beta release in September. However, it was concealed in the contacts list menu, making it difficult to locate and use. Now, however, the latest version of WhatsApp Beta for Android gets a small button on the home screen itself, allowing one to access the chatbot quickly and easily.

The new, multi-coloured button is situated right above the green ‘New chat’ icon. Once you tap on it, the chatbot can help users with everything from offering personalised suggestions on how to draft messages, life advice, and even entertain them via jokes, memes, and more.

Bear in mind though, that the feature is currently accessible only to beta users of WhatsApp, on Android devices. When it will be rolled out for users on the desktop and iOS versions of the app, remains unknown as of now. Meta, however, has pointed out that the feature will be rolled out as a stable channel release very soon.

Meta AI is being integrated on all of Meta’s platforms, including Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook, and will soon even be integrated with its new Meta Quest smart glasses, developed with Ray-Ban.

Other WhatsApp features to look out for

WhatsApp in recent months, has seen a flurry of new features being added to the platform, in a bid to take on traditional rivals such as Telegram, as well as mainstream video-conferencing apps such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Zoom.
