These AI smart glasses have a tiny display that’s invisible to the world

Smart glasses are not new, and we have seen many versions of them in the last several years. Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses are, however, the closest to what practical smart glasses should be.

But again, different manufacturers have different takes on what an ideal pair of smart glasses should do, and Halliday’s proactive AI glasses are more than your usual pair of smart glasses.

Halliday’s AI glasses come with a tiny screen sitting right on the frame. This tiny screen stays invisible to everyone, but you. On this display, you can get AI translations, read notifications, and make your way home with the help of navigation. Intrigued? Read along to learn more about Halliday’s AI-powered smart glasses.

What’s special about Halliday’s AI smart glasses?

Halliday’s AI smart glasses look like a standard pair of glasses, except they have a slightly thicker frame. But not as thick as the frame of the Meta Orion AR glasses. The wider frame of the glasses is probably due to the near-eye display that’s located in the upper right of the frame. Halliday calls it the DigiWindow. It’s said to be the smallest and lightest near-eye display module yet, that appears as a 3.5-inch screen.

When you wear the glasses, the small screen gets hidden because of how close the frame is to your face, making it invisible to the people around you. But note that you will have to look slightly upwards to look at what’s on the screen. The trick here is to be subtle or else people may notice your unusual eye movements.

The smart glasses feature an AI assistant that can anticipate and answer queries. For instance, if you are in a meeting and someone throws a question, the AI assistant will anticipate such questions and display their answers on the screen.

Further, the smart glasses can also summarise key points in a meeting and prepare notes for you. You can access these notes on your smartphone. Other features of the smart glasses include the AI translation feature and navigation. You can also read notifications from your smartphone on the screen.

To control things on your screen, there’s a smart ring with a built-in trackpad. Halliday’s smart glasses ship with and without prescription lenses.

Coming to the availability, Halliday’s proactive AI smart glasses will be available for purchase at around $399 (about Rs 34,200) to $499 (about Rs 42,800) after CES 2025. However, don’t expect them to arrive here in India as it appears like a limited release in the US.
