GTA 6, or GTA VI, is perhaps the most awaited game in the world right now. With it being over a decade since the last Grand Theft Auto game was launched, the world was quick to make the first GTA 6 trailer a massive hit within a day of its release. However, with the game set for a 2025 release, fans unfortunately have a long wait ahead of them.
Fortunately, its not all bad news, as numerous leaks around the game have been surfacing on the web, time and time again. After learning about two main Bonnie and Clyde-esque main characters and Vice City being the home turf of the game (both of which were confirmed in the first trailer), new leaks point to some gameplay aspects of the title.

Here’s all we need to know about the game so far. Do remember that these leaks may not always be from credible sources, and that many of these aspects will only be confirmed when Rockstar Games itself will confirm the same.
Gore and dismemberment
As per a new report by Sportskeeda, leakster @GTAVI_Countdown on X (previously Twitter) suggests that GTA 6 will include new gore mechanics in the game, which will make the title more violent than previous entries in the series.
While the GTA series has always held an Adult-only rating (18+), these new mechanisms may not be much of a surprise to fans. The leak also adds that the game will allow users to dismember opponents, along with do things like dual-wield weapons – perhaps finally making the ability to hold a melee and a shooting weapon at once.
Harder carjacking
For as long as GTA fans can remember, the game’s car-jacking mechanism has been hilariously easy. Usually, involving a convenient stop, unlocked doors, and a quick punch, playable characters could get into any vehicles they desire from street cars to military planes within seconds.
However, leaks suggest that this may not be the case in GTA 6, and players may have to work harder to steal a car. While there may be a cheat-code or two to work around this, it will certainly be fun to have more of an NPC challenge when you’re trying to steal their precious family car, only to have it crash and burn in some corner of the city minutes later.
Triple sunset
Sunsets in GTA games have made for some scenic in-game moments in the past. However, GTA 6 will reportedly feature three different types of sunset skies in the game. Closer to real-life sunsets, where the sky may not always be the same colour, GTA 6 will apparently feature orange, pink and purple skies during sunset.
In-game basketball
GTA V had many popular mini games within the title, including a full-fledged lawn tennis mechanic that characters could makes use of when they weren’t doing missions. It seems GTA 6 will take this a notch further with a full-fledged 3v3 basketball game mode within the game. Whether this will support multiplayer and allow people to play with their game-friends remains to be seen, though.

GTA 6 still doesn’t have a confirmed launch date though, with a vague 2025 release date being all that fans have at the moment. To make matters worse, the title will only release first for consoles, which means anyone waiting to mod GTA 6 and play as Peter Parker or Kratos must wait even longer. Thankfully, you can enjoy the GTA Remastered Trilogy for free on your smartphones meanwhile if you already have a Netflix subscription.
