Google Messages now lets you ‘unsubscribe’ from spam messages; here’s how

Spam messages have been a problem on both Android and iPhones. However, Google for a while has been working on filtering out these messages, so users get fewer unsolicited texts. Now, Google is rolling out the ‘Unsubscribe’ option in Google Messages, giving users a partial control of what they receive in their inbox.

With the latest feature in Google Messages, users can opt out of the spam list of a sender, ensuring there are no further unwanted texts from the same sender. Read on to know more about Google’s latest spam-blocking feature on Android.

Here’s how you can block spam on Google Messages

According to a report from Android Authority, Google Messages is getting a new feature that will put an end to spam messages from a particular sender. This feature is nothing but the ‘Unsubscribe’ button, which is now reportedly appearing on some Android devices.

The unsubscribe option is located towards the bottom, just below the spammy message. It reads “Unsubscribe to stop receiving messages.” When users tap on this option, they will be asked the reason for unsubscribing. Following this, there will be a final screen that lets you either unsubscribe or unsubscribe and report.

This new feature in Google Messages will surely help many users to control spam messages in their inbox. However, it’s worth noting that not all Android users will get the feature. Google says that the feature is rolling out to RCS Business Messages in select regions, including the US, India and some European regions.
