God of War Ragnarök Valhalla DLC: How to download and other details

The next chapter in Kratos’ adventure is here

God of War Ragnarök Valhalla DLC: How to download and other details

God of War Ragnarök was one of the biggest games of the year, and just when hype around this follow up to God of War 2018 was drying up, PlayStation Studios announced a new DLC for the game which is also set to be free.

With the God of War Ragnarök Valhalla DLC now hours away from release, players who are new to the title (or PlayStation games in general) may be wondering how to get the free new update so they can enjoy the new gameplay. Well, here’s a quick guide on doing just that.

God of Ragnarök Valhalla DLC: How to get it?

The only way to currently enjoy the new God of War Ragnarök DLC is the PlayStation Store, since the game itself is currently exclusive to Sony PlayStation users. As a result, all you need to download the new DLC is a purchased copy of the game and access to an internet connection.

Open the PlayStation Store using your Wi-Fi/Ethernet connection, and you should see the option to grab the new Valhalla DLC on God of War Ragnarök’s game page. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to download the game.

Remember that the new DLC officially releases at 9:00 AM Pacific Time on December 12. Indian gamers can hence, expect the release at 10:30 PM tonight.

God of Ragnarök Valhalla DLC: What’s new?

The new God of War Ragnarök Valhalla DLC follows the journey of Kratos and Mimir (just his head, still) as they go through new monsters to battle through the gates of Valhalla. New gameplay modes will require players to be even more deadly as death in any of the levels will send Kratos back to the beginning, outside the gates of Valhalla.

As Sony puts it, this will enable the DLC to play out differently each time you tackle it with a new approach. “The more you overcome, the more resources you’ll gain that can be put towards permanent upgrades that affect both Kratos and even Valhalla itself,” Sony adds in the official PlayStation Blog.

Meanwhile, PC gamers continue to wait for a port of the game. The port for the first God of War came to gaming laptops and desktops users last year, but gamers haven’t had a taste of Ragnarök yet, even months after the release of the title for the Sony PlayStation 5.
